Challenges Before Using Capataz 

Our timekeeping before was done manually wherein our staffs are required to write their time ins and outs in our logbooks (located at the guardhouse). This takes up everyone’s precious time instead of going directly to the farms.  

There was also a lot of paperwork involved in the recording and monitoring of employee’s reports. People had to manually write down reports of their accomplishments every day. 

In terms of work orders, we had to manually create a CDR daily wherein the time consumed is almost 1 hour just to generate a report for 21 people. 

Results After Using Capataz 

• Given that we are working on a banana plantation, monitoring of employees deployed on specific location was made easier through the use of Capataz’ Geofencing. 
• Only 50% of the laborers have mobile phones but the good thing is Capataz offers a QR Terminal wherein those who do not have phones can still login. So, the remaining 50% logs in via QR terminal.  
• Payroll and Timekeeping summary reports are now made easier because it’s easily generated through the app and reports were sent through an email. During payroll, all I need to do is sum it up. I can also easily see those who don’t report or login their time properly.  
• The creation of tasks and assignments are now directed to the Work Order Management feature of Capataz, which is so much faster and easier. 

Why Would You Recommend Capataz?  

• For me, the most highly recommended feature aside from timekeeping is the Geofencing feature which definitely made the supervisor’s work easier. It allows supervisor to easily monitor the productivity of all the workers. We would like to recommend this app to our two other farms here in Davao! 

With Geofencing, we can now closely monitor if our employees or laborers are really working on their designated areas or if they left their geofence. Alerts and Notifications are sent to supervisors if they leave or re-enter their working area. That makes our logging and monitoring easier.
